Practical Information

"I go into the country every day. The motifs are beautiful and
I spend my days better here than elsewhere"

(Letter from Paul Cézanne to his son, Aix 09/22/1906).

The course will take place between April 16th – 24th, 2016, in the idyllic setting of the Mas de Rabassière: fifteen km south of the Salon de Provence between Aix and Arles. When not practising, having a daily lesson with Germaine Lorenzini, or eating host Michael Frost’s delicious meals, students can enjoy the large swimming pool, tennis, croquet, boules, relaxing in the beautiful gardens or exploring the region.

In order to escape the harp sharing and less intensive tuition time that are facts of life on larger courses, five students will be selected for the first Académie Camac. Every student will have a daily lesson with Germaine Lorenzini, and their own room with a concert harp to practise on as much as they like. In the evenings before dinner, informal performance opportunities will be available for those who would like to have them. They are not obligatory, and there will be no final concert. This is to give students the freedom to work how they want to, rather than compel them to spend a lot of time practising one piece for a concert at the end of the week.

The entire course – tuition, accommodation, harp provision and all meals – is financed and organised by Camac Harps. Students pay their travel to a nearby airport or train station, from where they can be picked up.
